One person died and three others were injured overnight in a multiple-vehicle crash in northwest Harris County, and officials say alcohol was involved.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the accident, which happened around 11pm at 7500 North Highway 6 at Longenbaugh.

According to investigators, 22-year-old Aaron Jaques was speeding northbound on Highway 6 when he struck the back of a pickup truck with his front end.

Deputies said the pickup truck, driven by Don Johanson, was forced into the southbound lanes and struck an oncoming Dodge Ram head on.

Johanson died at the scene.

Anthony Justin White, 13, watched the car plow into his dad, killing him less than 24 hours after a Father’s Day celebration downtown with his family.

The teenager had been out for a walk about 9:10 a.m. on Monday along Ray Ellison Drive with his parents Charles and Priscilla White, when the couple was hit from behind by a Toyota Corolla.

Sarina Sanchez, 24, the driver of the Corolla was intoxicated when she veered into the road’s southbound lanes near Lake Vista, first striking Priscilla and then her husband as they walked on the road’s shoulder, police said.

The husband and wife were rushed to San Antonio Military Medical Center, where Charles White died.

One man is dead and another faces intoxicated manslaughter charges after a two-vehicle crash in northwest Houston early Saturday, police said.

According to the Houston Police Department, a green Chevrolet Suburban heading south on North Gessner Drive ran a red light at the intersection with Highway 290 and slammed into a red Cadillac that was turning onto the feeder road.

The male driver of the Cadillac was ejected from his car and died at the scene, police said. The male driver of the Suburban fled the scene of the accident on foot, but a wrecker driver saw him hiding in some bushes several blocks away. He detained the suspect until police arrived.

Police said the suspect driver appeared to be intoxicated. He faces charges of intoxicated manslaughter and failure to stop and render aid.

A woman killed when a drunk driver crashed into her car was a veteran with a long history of helping fellow soldiers.

Cynthia Burks, 57, was heading to a ribbon cutting ceremony when the crash happened around 6:40 a.m. on Saturday.

The wreck occurred in the 6000 block of W. Davis Street in Dallas. Burks was driving eastbound when the alleged drunk driver was driving on the wrong side of the road struck her vehicle head-on.

Cristian Hernandez was arrested and faces an intoxication manslaughter charge.

San Antonio – Friends honor cyclist killed by suspected drunken driver | ksat.com

RFriends and classmates of a cyclist who was hit and killed early Saturday morning held a candlelight vigil for him on Sunday night.

Police say Jose Gamez was riding his bike on East Commerce with three other cyclists, including his wife, Rosalba Gamez,  when a suspected drunk driver hit them.

Rosalba Gamez survived the crash, but Jose Gamez died at the scene.

“His wife, I’m sure right now, she’s hurting bad to know that she’s not going to see her husband anymore,” said Pete Cantu, a friend and classmate of Jose Gamez.

Cantu said once his fellow classmates found out what happened to him, they knew they had to do something for their special friend.

“We got together with some of the alumni and we said, ‘You know what? Let’s go ahead and have a vigil,’” said Leonard Alvarado, Gamez’s classmate and friend. “‘Let’s get our family together, the class of 1986 at Lanier High School.’ So, that’s what we are doing tonight, remembering our friend.”

At Sunday’s vigil, classmates consoled one another, lit candles and prayed for their friend.

Cantu said they also want Gamez’s family to know that they are thinking about them.

“I hope that all those people out there right now, that they pray for the family and all of us because it’s hard,” said Cantu. “It’s hard to lose somebody that close to us.”

Cantu and Alvarado said they are also working to raise money to help the family with funeral expenses.

Gamez leaves behind four children and one grandchild.

The suspected drunk driver has been identified as Ruben Morin III,  25.

Fort Worth: 16-year-old driver in quadruple-fatal crash tested triple legal BAC limit | wfaa.com

The 16-year-old driver in an accident that left four dead last month had a blood-alcohol level three times the legal limit at the time of the crash, Tarrant County Sheriff Dee Anderson said at a news conference Tuesday.

Ethan Couch, 16, was driving a pickup truck between 68 to 70 miles per hour with seven teen passengers when he hit a parked car whose occupants were helping another motorist with a flat tire on June 15. Anderson said Couch’s blood-alcohol content was 0.24.The legal limit is 0.08.

Youth pastor Brian Jennings, mother and daughter Hollie and Shelby Boyles, and 24-year-old Breanna Mitchell were killed in the crash. Nine others were hurt.

No charges have been announced so far in the June 15 crash.

One person is dead and police are investigating after a suspected drunk driving crash.

The crash happened around 2 a.m. Sunday near Broadway and Fox Hollow.

Police say a speeding car lost control, crashed through a fence and busted a water main.

Police think the driver was drunk.

A passenger in the car died at the scene.

They say the driver was transported to the hospital for treatment, and a mandatory blood draw.

Police say charges are pending.

The name of the dead person has not been released.

A crash involving a suspected drunk driver left two dead and three injured on a highway in Waller County Sunday afternoon.

A 20-year-old man driving a pickup truck southbound on FM359 near Stenzel lost control of his vehicle on a curve and hit two Chevy Suburbans traveling northbound, a spokesperson with the Texas Department of Public Safety said.

The driver of first Suburban was killed and a passenger was hospitalized in serious condition.

The pickup spun around and hit another Suburban, killing its driver. Two passengers were sent to the hospital in unknown condition.

The driver of the truck displayed visible signs of intoxication, officials said. He was transported to Memorial Hermann-Katy Hospital for treatment and will later be sent to Waller County Jail.

A woman died on a freeway Saturday night after she was hit by a driver who police say was intoxicated. It is unclear why the woman was walking on the highway. She died at the scene.

Eliazar Rivera, 47, of Grand Prairie, was driving a 1988 Jeep eastbound on I-30 in the right lane, according to police when he struck her.

Police have arrested him in connection with the woman’s death. He has been charged with intoxication manslaughter and is being held in Grand Prairie Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.

A suspected drunken driver was in custody after a three-vehicle traffic accident early Wednesday on Interstate 30 in Arlington that left a man, a woman and an infant dead.

Investigators think a pickup truck hit the rear of the small car in which the three victims were riding.

The car spun out and was stopped on the highway when a larger truck pulling a flatbed trailer hit it.

The driver of the pickup fled, but was caught in a nearby wooded area.

Benjamon Ray Stewart, 41, of Arlington was held without bond Wednesday on three counts of intoxication manslaughter and one count of failure to stop and render aid.

Najib Intidam, 40, died in his car at the scene while his wife, Hanane, and their infant girl died at an Arlington hospital shortly after the wreck, Fox 4 News reports.

A woman died early Saturday when a drunken driver smashed into the car she was driving in downtown Amarillo, police said.

Billy Don Ware, 37, was taken into custody and would be charged with intoxicated manslaughter, said Sgt. Warren Gross of Amarillo Police Department’s Traffic Investigation Squad. A passenger in the truck was arrested for public intoxication, Gross said.

Potter County jail records show that Ware was booked on a charge of intoxicated manslaughter early Saturday.

Ware was not in the jail Saturday afternoon, authorities said.

One teenage boy was killed, one injured and another arrested after their car crashed into a bayou early Sunday morning in southwest Houston.

Houston Police Department got a call around 3:12 a.m. that a 2002 silver Nissan Maxima lost control in the 9800 block of West Bellfort near the Beltway.

The car went westbound at a high speed before struck a pipe on the bridge and went into the bayou.

The driver of the car, George Marion, 19, who didn’t appear to be injured, was charged with intoxicated manslaughter and intoxicated assault, according to authorities.

A 19-year-old boy, one of two passengers, died at the scene. The other passenger, a 20-year-old, was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital with severe injuries.

Names of the victims haven’t been released pending family notification.

A Brownsville woman has been charged with intoxication manslaughter, accused of driving drunk and causing the death of another person Sunday night.

Jessica Iris Izaguirre, 28, remained jailed on a $500,000 bond Monday on one count of intoxication manslaughter, jail and court records show.

A criminal affidavit filed against Izaguirre by the Texas Department of Public Safety states she was intoxicated when her 2003 Buick Rendezvous struck Alfredo Guerrero, 18, of Palmview, as he tried to change a flat tire.

The incident happened at 9:17 p.m. Sunday on State Highway 48, near the SH 550 interchange outside Brownsville, the DPS officials reported.

State police said Guerrero had pulled over on the highway to change a flat tire on his 2012 Chevrolet Silverado. He got out of his vehicle to the check the truck’s spare tire when Izaguirre hit him.

Guerrero was taken to Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville, where he died,

Teen who works at SW Houston strip club charged in deadly crash

Dalia Iris Alfaro works as a dancer at Sin City, a gentleman’s club in southwest Houston which is open from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m., according to the company website.

It was shortly before 6:30 a.m. when police saw Alfaro driving a silver Dodge pickup truck 60 miles an hour in a 35 mph zone on Westheimer near Gessner.

As the HPD officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop, Alfaro fled westbound on Westheimer with the officer pursuing. Alfaro then struck a vehicle at the intersection of Kirkwood and Westheimer and continued without stopping.

And as quickly as the crash happened, a life was lost. Alfaro was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital Southwest to be treated for minor injuries and, after a blood draw, was determined to be legally drunk. Charges were then filed.

Alfaro was charged with murder and intoxication manslaughter. Her combined bond amounts totaled $80,000.

Three people were killed on Saturday night near Keystone after, investigators say, a truck ran through a stop sign and hit the three people in a car on U.S. 30.

The Benton County Sheriff’s office says Raul Salazar Jr., 39, of Bushland, Tex., was driving a GMC truck on 16th Avenue, heading north towards U.S. 30 at about 7:30 p.m. on Saturday night. Their investigation shows Salazar did not stop at the highway and hit a Chevrolet Impala carrying three people.

Valerie A. Schneiders, 22, Jason C. Bessert, 24, and Haley R. Bessert, 3, all of Cedar Rapids, died at the scene of the crash around 7:30 p.m. Saturday on Highway 30 at 16th Avenue, three miles south of Keystone.

Law enforcement officers arrested Salazar and charged him with three counts of homicide by vehicle, preventing apprehension and OWI. Salazar is in the Benton County Jail on a $75,000 bond.

Charges have been filed against a man accused of getting behind the wheel while intoxicated and causing a deadly wreck in northeast Houston.

Adrian Samarron, 19, is charged with intoxication manslaughter and accident involving injury in connection to the Monday evening wreck.

Authorities say, Samarron was driving a black Nissan Frontier pickup truck when he ran a stop sign in the 10000 block of Friendly and collided with a gray Toyota Corolla.

The driver of the Corolla, a 46-year-old man, died at the scene. His name has not yet been released.

Samarron and a passenger tried running from the scene, but they were caught by officers.

A suspected drunk driver was behind bars Monday on suspicion that he caused a fatal collision while fleeing the scene of another wreck Saturday night.

According to a crash report, Jose Hernandez, 56, was fleeing from the first wreck heading south on General McMullen Drive when he crashed into a pedestrian crossing Wallace.

The pedestrian, Gilbert Ramos, 25, was pronounced dead at the location, and Hernandez was subsequently arrested.

He appeared to be intoxicated and had been speeding, the report says. Details about the first wreck were not available early Monday, but it did not appear as though anyone was critically injured.

Hernandez was charged with intoxication manslaughter and remained behind bars on Monday in lieu of $35,000 bail.

On Sunday APD arrested 38-year-old Edgar Rangel on an intoxicated manslaughter warrant after he was released from a local hospital where he was being treated for injuries he received in a truck v. train collision.

Rangel’s charges stem from the August 10, 2013 truck v. train wreck where a 4-year-old boy was killed.

According to APD, Rangel was driving a Dodge 1500 when it was struck by two separate trains in the 600 block of north Eastern. A 4-year-old male was the only passenger and the truck was towing a horse trailer with a single horse inside.

APD said the boy was ejected from the vehicle after it was struck by the train. The boy was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries he received in the collision.

Alcohol was a factor in the crash, according to APD.

Rangel was arrested for intoxicated manslaughter and was booked into Potter County Correction Center.

A suspected drunk driver allegedly killed 20-year-old Leeza Lugo in Northeast El Paso.

Police said 22-year-old Jacob McGuire was behind the wheel of a Dodge Ram when he lost control and hit the concrete barrier on Loop 375 and Railroad just before 3 a.m. Saturday.

The impact caused the pickup truck to overturn.

Lugo, from Anthony, Texas was ejected from the truck and died at the scene.

Paramedics took McGuire and three other passengers to the hospital with minor injuries.

Police have charged McGuire with intoxicated manslaughter.
